dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores how trust and control emerge as a duality between a shared service center, Regionale ICT-Dienst Utrecht (RID), and its seven clients, six municipalities and a regional social service organization. Since most literature on the relationship between trust and control has been written from a dualism perspective which sees trust and control as two different concepts who belong together, this thesis takes on a duality perspective as described by Möllering (2005). Möllering (2005) notes that the duality perspective has five core elements. Trust and control assume each other’s existence, they refer to each other, they create each other, they are irreducible to each other and they always require suspension. This thesis describes how these elements came about in the relationship between the RID and its clients by shedding new light on this underexposed perspective. | en_US |
