dc.description.abstract | In order to understand how the university will fit into the city in a post-COVID scenario that has undergone many changes, it is inevitable to look at the direction, the trend of a series of global patterns that condition the behaviour of these two fields (the urban and the university spheres). Adopting a critical perspective, this thesis defends the capacity for reinvention that this crisis brings by identifying a series of potential changes with respect to pre-COVID times in both spheres. More specifically, I focus on the case of Nijmegen, where the Radboud University plays an important role and the university side of the city is very strong. For this case I have grouped the potential changes into different dimensions (student housing, urban mobility, the campus itself, and the university and youth side of Nijmegen), and after conducting a series of interviews with stakeholders in these areas I have been able to draw a number of conclusions about the role of the university in the post-COVID city. | en_US |
