This work tries to contribute to the field of catalan nationalism from a perspective influenced by constructivism. Its method is a qualitative cartographical and discursive analysis on weather forecasts emitted on the TV channel of the public catalan media company CCMA (Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals). Assuming that through the portrayal of maps and the language employed during these forcasts it is possible to study cultural implications and biases, this work has analyzed said elements and presents a two folded conclusion. The cartographical analysis establishes differences between the real accepted political delimitations and those displayed during the forecasts of CCMA. These differences show a special status for Andorra, inconsistent delimitations with the Spanish and French border, all the while portraying Catalonia together with other Catalan-speaking regions (like Valencia or Roussillon). The discoursive analysis reveals a preference for words that challenge the current status of the political relationship between Catalonia and Spain, besides avoiding the use of the word 'Spain' completely.en_US
