Abstract
Purpose - This research focuses on the relationship between FTPO and Psychological Well-being. Next to this, this research proposes that the Need for Relatedness moderates the relationship between FTPO and Psychological Well-being. Lastly, this research proposes that the number of obligations in the Relational Psychological Contract moderates the relationship between FTPO and Psychological Well-being. Design - This research was conducted with use of two studies. Both studies were conducted cross-sectionally with the use of a survey. The respondents were selected with use of convenience sampling. In total, more than 300 respondents participated. Findings - The results show that FTPO is positively related to Psychological Well-being, that the Need for Relatedness does not moderate this relationship and that the number of obligations in the Relational Psychological Contract does not mediate this relationship. The results do show that FTPO is a distinct concept that differs from other time related variables, such as OCB and Intention to Quit. Conclusion - This research is concluded with some limitations and the practical contribution. The findings of this research suggest that an expansive FTPO is positively related to Psychological Well-being. Organizations will benefit from having employees with a good Psychological Well-being. Organizations should thus stimulate the expansive FTPO of their workers.
