Abstract
Blockchain is nowadays a well-known term, nonetheless the concept is still vague to many organizations. Widespread adoption is still a long way off even though many organization are exploring the blockchain technology. The process concerning the blockchain exploring is mainly conducted via experiments, therefor the relation between organizational factors and blockchain experimenting is researched in this thesis. The main research questions in this research are: ‘’In what way are important factors affecting blockchain experimenting within established organizations?’’ and ‘’How are these factors affecting blockchain technology within established organizations?’’. The answering of these research questions is done via qualitative, deductive method. A cross case analysis was conducted to find an answer to the research questions.
The analysis pointed out that not all indicated factors affect the blockchain experimenting and that the factors can affect the experimenting in two ways. At first the factors can affect the level of experimenting within an organization and secondly they can affect the design of experimenting. Furthermore the analysis shows that there is also a feedback loop from blockchain experimenting to several factors.
