Abstract
The water level in the Netherlands is increasing due to the climate change. These developments need a kind of management which protects the area from the rising water. An area between the two villages Ravenstein and Lith makes use of an integral approach to manage the water in the area. Since the management of this area does not only aim for an increasing of the dikes, but also aims for a development of the area, many parties has to be taken into account with the decision making of the project. To achieve this, the project assigned an integrator to the project to make sure the integral approach can succeed. It is the first time a water management project like this aims to be as integral as this one and with that, it is the first project that makes use of an integrator. With the use of qualitative research methods, this thesis investigated in the impact of the integrator to the project. Multiple interviews and analyses have been conducted to find out in what way the integrator of the project contributes to the extent to which the project succeeds to be integral.
