Abstract
Tambalorok is city district of the coastal area of Semarang Indonesia. The city district encounters the effects of land subsidence. lt can have impact on the quality of the living environment. The impact can be categorized in four ways: infrastructural, economical, environmental and social. The main focus for this thesis is to seek sustainable policy implementations that could increase the quality of the living environment. There are approaches were used to answer the main research question. To conclude, the mail problem for Tambalorok is not landsubsidence, but flooding. Before the landsubsidence can be solved the floods have to decrease
