Abstract
The Circular Economy is a concept gaining momentum amongst various parties. Concerning the real office estate market, there is an increasing interest amongst developers to apply circular principles. For institutional investors however, there is still much progress to be made. Although investors are increasingly more aware of responsible investing, it is currently unclear to what extent investors are willing to invest in circular developments in the existing office real estate. This research explored which investment conditions must be met in order to attract institutional investors to invest in circular real estate redevelopment. The Delphi technique was used as a research method in order to more thoroughly explore the motivations amongst various involved parties. This allowed for a qualitative conceptualization of the conditions favourable for investors. The results of this research can contribute to the development of a tool that helps investors to include principles of the circular economy in investment strategies. Key words: Circular Economy, real estate development, institutional investors, investment strategies
