Abstract
Learning in the workplace is important for management consultants for improving their professional development. Feedback is described as one of the most important concepts for learning. Therefore, the purpose of this master thesis research is to investigate the role of individual aspects and contextual aspects in feedback-seeking behaviour, feedback and learning in the workplace of management consultants. The main question of this master thesis is formulated as: "What is the role of individual aspects and contextual aspects infeedback -seeking behaviour, feedback and learning in the workplace of management consultants?"Ten semi-structured interviews with management consultants of nine different consultancies have been conducted. Results indicate that learning goal orientation, the instrumental motive and high quality relationships positively influence feedback seeking behaviour and learning in the workplace of management consultants (individual aspects). Furthermore, a learning culture, a feedback culture and a feedback environment positively influence feedback-seeking behaviour, feedback and learning in the workplace of management consultants (contextual aspects). The results extend existing literature by focussing on the role of bath individual and contextual aspects in feedback-seeking behaviour, feedback and learning in the workplace, which is valuable for improving workplace learning of management consultants.
