Abstract
The cold-start problem remains a tricky problem for Recommender Systems. Park and Chu have attempted to solve this problem in the case of predicting values for new users (for existing items). I apply similar metrics to the case of predicting values for new items (for existing users), and values for new items for new users as well. I compare different metrics and settings when applying it to the Rossmann Store Sales-dataset.
