Abstract
A growing body of literature exists on the implementation of corporate sustainability (CS) within companies. Change agents often function as instrument and are responsible for the designing phase of the implementation as well as the implementation itself. While having specific competencies, CS change agents can operate in multiple roles. This research explores if the roles these change agents play change over time. Surveys conducted over multiple years are conducted in order to examine the change in roles over time for company-specific factors (different firm sizes, different levels of embedment and between different sectors). The research also examines the drivers the group of CS change agents possess. The results do not show a change in roles due to company-specific factors, but do show that the drivers of the CS change agents may cause a shift in roles over time.
