Abstract
An ERP system is a well-known software-based information technology that aims to create a comprehensive overview of an organization’s processes and functions in just one information architecture. Many organizations use an ERP system and investments in ERP systems are also still increasing, which can be explained by the many potential benefits of such an ERP system. Whether an organization truly benefits from an ERP system, depends on the usage of the system by the organizational members. Implemented ERP systems are often less effective than expected, but the post-implementation phase of an ERP implementation is still an understudied field of research. Therefore, this thesis aims to contribute to a more efficient usage of ERP systems in organizations. How organizational members use an ERP system depends on their perceptions and this perception influences how they enact their agency. The complex interrelations between technical and social aspects after an ERP implementation are also understudied and therefore this thesis also aims to gain insight in these interrelations. This qualitative case study contributes to the literature by exploring how organizational members perceived the ERP, how aspects besides the ERP system itself influenced these perceptions, and how they behaved after the ERP system was implemented by conducting semi-structured interviews.
