Abstract
The first part of this research is about making sustainability measurable in an operating room by designing an instrument for it. The focus of this research was on making energy consumption measurable. The second part is about the implementation process of that instrument, called the green barometer, and how it can best be set up so that the barometer can be included as a standard in the operating room sector. Interviews have been conducted with various healthcare professionals. As a result, a design of the green barometer was made. In addition, recommendations have been made with regard to the implementation process, namely that internal and external pressure must be created in order for the green barometer to be included as a standard in the field.
