Abstract
This thesis will analyze three Hollywood movies that deal with issues linked to the War on Terror, namely American Sniper (2014), Reign over Me (2007), and The Report (2019). These three movies will function as case studies, in which they will be analyzed in light of a framework consisting of different theories. These theories include American Patriotism (post-9/11), mourning and self-criticism. The three movies listed will be analyzed through specific or multiple fitting frameworks and thereby connected to contemporary American society.
