Abstract

This research looks at the role that shared mobility can play in reducing social inequality. First the distribution of shared modes across Amsterdam and the possible relation between neighborhood characteristics and supply are examined by conducting GIS and statistical analyses. Thereafter current mobility policies are examined to see whether these can explain current practice. Finally, policy subsystems and barriers are examined in order to see how these affect the shared mobility and the possible uses. In the end mainly governmental, legal and organizational barriers are identified as inhibitors of shared mobility serving social equality goals.
