Abstract

This study explored the use of personalized and non-personalized fear appeals on perceived severity, self-efficacy and safe or healthy choice made as well as several relationships between these constructs, based on existing literature. This study aims to answer the following research question: “What is the effect of perceived severity and self-efficacy in the prevention of the use of shared e-scooters by drunk drivers, using personalized and non-personalized fear appeals?”. The results of this study are analysed by using SPSS as well as SmartPLS. The findings suggest that a higher sense of perceived severity will lead to safe and healthy decision-making. Several limitations of the study are identified and suggestions for future research are made.
