This paper aims to increase understanding of team culture intelligence in virtual culturally diverse teams and its relationship with the team outcome, virtual team innovative behaviour. This study used the developed 21-item team cultural intelligence (CQ) scale from Bücker & Korzilius (2020) and test its role as mediator between individual culture intelligence (CQ), creative self-efficacy and collective efficacy on virtual team innovative behavior. One survey study was developed and tested quantitatively in multinational companies including culturally diverse team leaders and team members. Through multiple regression analysis and structural equation modelling, the findings showed that individual CQ together with collective efficacy are significant predictors of team CQ. In contrast creative self-efficacy is not a good predictor of the latter. We find evidence for a positive significant relationship between team CQ and virtual team innovative behavior. Further analysis revealed the pivotal role of team CQ as mediator between creative self-efficacy and virtual team innovative behavior, and via fully mediation between individual CQ or collective efficacy and virtual team innovative behavior. As final step, team trust was added moderating the effect of team CQ on virtual team innovative behavior, showing no significant interaction effect.en_US
