Abstract

In relation with climate change and the conventional way of farming in recent decades, arable farming in the Netherlands and Denmark faces enormous challenges. Tackling drought is one of them. This master thesis examines how a drought-resistant arable farming transition for 2030 is being realized in both countries, what stimulating and hindering factors are involved, and what the countries can learn from each other in the process. The research was conducted using the Multi-Level Perspective on socio-technical transitions of Geels and Schot (2007) and the Governance framework of Steurer (2013). The data of this research were collected through critical literature review, semi-structured interviews and document analysis.
