Abstract
This thesis is about the steps we can take in changing the food system. It will especially focus on what the local government can do to create a local food system, so that supply chains are shortened. This thesis will therefore focus on the availability of the local food in the municipality of Oost Gelre. The choice for this municipality is because of the background of the researcher. And the combination in finding possible solutions for the not functioning world food system. The objective of this research is to determine what the influence of the municipality is on the local food market, and if corporate control plays a role in this. With this objective there is also a goal to see if there is a possibility for the municipality to become more actively engaged in the project of local food.
To create a narrative to this objective, the following research question is composed:
How does the municipality of Oost Gelre facilitate local food production and consumption in the region?
