Abstract
Native English speaker are nowadays being outnumbered by Non-native English speakers. This means that learners of English as a foreign language are more likely to encounter situations in which English is used as an international communicative tool (ELF) among non-native speakers. This thesis raises the question whether this context of use is being represented in English classes at Dutch secondary schools and whether these representations can and/or should be improved.
