Abstract

Research was conducted on the relationship between CSR on start-up funding based on a crunchbase dataset. Additionally the location of a start-up, based on the country of origin translated to the economic market of their country, was moderated on this relationship. The theoretical framework is based on the stakeholder theory, the shareholder theory and the resource-based view of the firm. An ESG calculation tool was used to translate the description of an organization to an ESG score. The research uses a multiple regression analysis. This research shows that CSR does not have a significant effect on start-up funding. The economic market does have a weak significant effect on start-up funding.
