Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to shed light on the notion of paradigm in Giorgio Agamben's thought. It claims that the paradigm in Agamben's philosophy denotes not only a notion, but also a method. In the first section, the author discusses the "status quaestionis" and explains why an analysis of the topic is important. In the second section, he presents Agamben's notion of paradigm by differentiating three key meanings, that is, paradigm as a conceptual framework, paradigm as a model, and paradigm as an example. The third section is devoted to a discussion of the methodological significance of the notion of paradigm: the author discusses the relation between Agamben's use of the notion and Foucault's and focuses on how Agamben uses it in his work. The fourth section is a critical reassessment of Agamben's definition of paradigm. The author focuses on the question whether Agamben is right in claiming that the paradigm escapes to the logic of deduction of induction.
