dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to (1) investigate the effect of spectral content of stimuli on the P-P amplitude and latency of the Spatial Change Complex (SCC); and (2) examine the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of SCC as an objective measurement for sound localization. In addition, the SCC P-P amplitude of subjects with unilateral perceptive hearing loss is compared to those of normal hearing subjects. Broadband white noise generates a larger SCC P-P amplitude compared to high-frequency and low-frequency narrowband white noise. The investigation did not result in a difference in latency of the SCC n1 and p2 between the different stimuli. The size of the SCC amplitude may depend on the size of the angle change, in other words, there might be a larger SCC amplitude at a larger angle condition. The SCC can be used as an objective index of auditory discrimination in localization.en_US
