Abstract
In the era of rapid development of science and technology, the impact of science and technology on human beings is becoming greater and greater. Will people finally lose themselves and their identity in the combination of technology and the human body? Through a visual analysis of the 1995 film Ghost in the Shell, this article explores gender and identity, dualism, and what constitutes a new standard for human beings. By analysing the film and its protagonist, Kusanagi, this article takes the reader on a quest to explore the entanglement of body and mind in the posthumanist film Ghost in the Shell.
