Abstract

Abstract The concept of the Green Economy arose as a solution to fight cJimate change and the global crises such as the energy and the food crisis. The Green Economy is seen as a future-proof way of including everybody on the planet while transitioning from a bio--fuel economy to a Green Economy. However, the transition to the Green Economy is far from just, as it causes Green Capitalism, Green Grabbing and Green Extractivism. In order to arrive at a Green Economy that is just, the Just Transition is needed. The Just Transition entails that, through a socîal dialogue, all actors take part in a just and fair economy that fights the global crises. This thesis uses the concept of Just Transformation, the categorîes Recognitional Justîce, Procedural Justice and Distributional Justice, and corresponding indicators established by Bennet et al. (2019), to condud a directed content anatysis on a case study of the NGO RESOLVE. Thi3 onal ysî3 ollow3 for on cnhaneing of the exi3ting litcraturc on the Ju3t Transition, offering insight in how NGOs can help obtain the Just Transition to the Green Eoonomy. This thesis finds that Procedural Justice is the most important in obtaining the Just Transition, followed by Oistributional Justice and Recognitional Justice. The indicators that are of most importance are use of words or meanings RJ, recommendation PJ and recommendation DJ.
