The objective of this study is to test the relationship between the adoption of energy saving technologies and economic firm performance. Additionally, this study takes special interest in the proposed moderating role of the implementation degree of energy saving technologies where economic firm performance effects are concerned. The aim of this study is to contribute to the still incomplete knowledge stream that concerns itself with sustainable process technologies adoption and its effect on firm performance. The research is based on a Dutch subsample of data originating from a triennial European survey held amongst manufacturing firms. ANCOVA analysis is utilized to test several hypotheses. This study finds no significant relationship between the amount of energy saving technologies adopted and economic firm performance, nor does it acknowledge implementation degree as a moderator.en_US
