This study is focused on countering corruption in a way other than the legislative manner and looks at an approach other than the business-as-usual. This study found that a deliberative approach rather than a vote-centric or legislative approach can also be effective in countering corruption. The goal of this research is to see what the relationship is between deliberation and the governance of corruption, and whether the degree of presence of trade unions within dialogues insides a firm influence this relationship. This research goal was chosen because little is known about the effect of deliberation on the governance of corruption. Also, little is known about the possible positive role trade unions can play in the governance of corruption. For this research data was collected from 150 firms that are members of the United Nations Global Compact. This data was collected by analyzing Communication On Progress reports and annual reports. After collecting these data, a moderation analysis was conducted. The findings of this research indicated that deliberation has a positive effect on governance of corruption. In addition, the degree of presence of trade union presence within dialogues inside a firm positively moderates the link between deliberation and governance of corruption. This study therefore not only contributed to the literature on governance of corruption, but also provided relevant insight on the literature of deliberation and trade unions.en_US
