Background: Grapheme-color synesthesia is a phenomenon where synesthetes experience emotions upon seeing a grapheme in their congruent and incongruent colors. This notion can be combined with the possibility to acquire grapheme-color associations to ask the question whether it is possible to develop similar emotional responses as grapheme-color synesthetes. Method: A Support Vector Machine is used to classify limbic brain data of participants based on training, color and congruency conditions. There was no significant difference found between pre- and post-training sessions. Conclusion: This thesis concludes based on its results that it is not possible to develop similar emotional responses as grapheme-color synesthetes.
