Awareness of Environmental Impacts of Batik Industry. A Case Study of Central Java, Indonesia

Abstract

The Batik industry is a blooming business in Central Java, however; their environmental impacts is not that positively contributing. The two groups of actors that are most involved in the batik industry are the batik entrepreneurs and government. The awareness of environmental impacts is built up from three aspects; knowledge, affection and willingness. The role that the groups of actors play in the daily functioning of the batik industry is one among the many things that influence their level of awareness. The level of awareness is determined, whereafter the level of awareness of the two groups of actors is compared.
