dc.description.abstractHoe ontstaat de symbolische relatie van de stad Florence met de Griekse held Hercules enerzijds en de oudtestamentische herder David anderzijds en in hoeverre komen hun beeldtypen in de publieke sculptuur samen in de vijftiende en zestiende eeuw? Het is mijn doel om aan te tonen dat deze twee figuren hand in hand gaan en blijven gaan, in een turbulente periode wat betreft het Florentijnse politieke klimaat, in het bijzonder bij publieke sculpturen, die gebruikt wordt als stadspropaganda, in de openbare ruimte.en_US
