Several studies have been performed on the enhancing effect innovative cognitive style has on creative performance. We know less about the effects adaptive cognitive style and additional moderators have on creative performance. This study investigates the influence of intrinsic motivation on the relationship between adaptive cognitive style and creative performance. By performing research creating an own dataset, creative performance was evaluated based on two key indicators: fluency and originality. The research engages with foundational theories such as the Adoption-Innovation Theory and Componential Theory of Creativity, to shape its hypotheses and guide the analysis. Contrary to prevailing beliefs, the study found no statistically significant impact of adaptive cognitive style on creative performance. This suggests that the influence of adaptive cognitive style may be less influential than traditionally theorized. Furthermore, the study found no statistically significant impact of intrinsic motivation on the relationship between adaptive cognitive style and creative performance. This suggests that the influence of intrinsic motivation may be not a factor influencing the relationship. The research offers new insights for future academic studies, encouraging a more comprehensive understanding of intrinsic motivation influencing the relationship between adaptive cognitive style and creative performance. Furthermore, it prompts further exploration of this relationship by testing other factors possibly influencing the relationship between adaptive cognitive style and creative performance, advocating for a richer and more diversified understanding within the literature.
