dc.description.abstract | A lot has happened in the world that may have changed the commuter's travel behavior. The main reason for this is COVID-19. Commuters should work at home, if possible. In this thesis this was investigated in the region Venlo, Roermond, Weert in the province of Limburg using the following main question: How can the Province of Limburg respond to the changed situation in travel behavior of commuters in the region Venlo, Roermond and Weert, considering the effects of COVID-19 on digital accessibility and other factors like low population density in the region, especially in the field of public transport? The study used a survey that was distributed among residents and/or employees. The number of commuters who use the car most often remained stable at 48%. It does show, that respondents are thus going to the office 1.3 days less on average: 39% go to work 4 to 5 days as opposed to 71% before the measures. This also changes the transportation accessibility because the commute time and distance changed because of this. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended (yet), there is no major scientific practice research available yet. The literature that is present is mainly policy documents and expectations. | en_US |
