The research question was the following: “What are the markers that can be used to do research on individual political moderation?” To identify the main markers for individual moderation, firstly the existing literature on political moderation in general was consulted to identify the main markers in those studies. Thereafter, these markers were put to the test during the content analysis on 25 blogs of Abdel Moneim Mahmoud. In order to conduct this content analysis the blogs were first translated from Arabic to English. The main results of this study are that the markers democratization, cross-ideological cooperation, human rights and violence are important in the process of individual moderation, with most emphasis put on human rights.
