Abstract
The Poetry of Space: a Study of Joker's Mise-en-Scene offers an exploration of Todd Phillips' Joker by answering the question as to how the mise-en-scene of the film adds to the narrative of the Joker's origin story. The thesis is an analysis of film, using Bordwell, Thompson and Smith's Film Art: an Introduction as methodological backbone.
