dc.description.abstract | The following research details the narratives of six locals of Medellin, Colombia. The sentiments of these individuals are collected in consideration of the dark tourism, or what this investigation refers to as narco-tourism, that occurs within the cityscape. The representation of this cohort has yet to be considered within the dialogue with official tourism stakeholders. Their opinions serve to shed light on the currently unregulated sector, in hopes for mutually beneficial outcomes in the future development of these tours. Narrative inquiry and the Habermasian theory of communicative action are utilized in order to present these stories in a concise manner. | en_US |
