Supporting International Female Entrepeneurs: The Importance of a Solid Foundation for Success
This thesis explores the challenges faced by international female entrepreneurs in Barcelona and proposes strategies for supporting their success in the city's business environment. Through a literature review and qualitative data analysis, the study identifies common barriers faced by these entrepreneurs, including lack of access to resources, cultural and linguistic barriers, and balancing caregiving responsibilities with business demands. The study also examines existing support systems in Barcelona, such as business training programs and networking opportunities, and evaluates their effectiveness in addressing the specific needs of international female entrepreneurs. Based on the findings, the thesis proposes a comprehensive support framework for international female entrepreneurs in Barcelona. The framework includes: networking, access to resources and inclusive environment. Networking opportunities are proposed through connecting entrepreneurs with local business leaders and potential investors. Access to resources is proposed through business training and mentorship programs tailored to the needs of international female entrepreneurs. The inclusive environment focused on more female focused initiatives. Overall, this thesis demonstrates the importance of providing targeted support for international female entrepreneurs in Barcelona and highlights the potential of the proposed framework to enhance their success in the city's business environment.
