dc.description.abstractDe Amerikaanse performance-kunstenares Carolee Schneemann voerde in 1963 haar performance Eye Body op in haar atelier. In 1975 en 1977 voerde ze de performance Interior Scroll uit tijdens een vrouwencongres en een filmfestival. Deze twee performances worden geanalyseerd aan de hand van Judith Butler's theorie over de performativiteit van gender (ontwikkeld in haar boek Gender Trouble uit 1990), wat ervan uit gaat dat gender wordt gevormd door handelingen.en_US
