dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigated the strategy and network relations for a care group regulating chronic care in the region of ‘s Hertogenbosch. Over a third of the Dutch population suffers from at least one chronic disease, sixty-five per cent among elderly. Traditional health care organization is not equipped to facilitate this chronic care. Therefore a new approach was taken with the help of care groups starting 2007 The first part is dedicated towards a formal evaluation of strategy and the second part aims to diagnose the network. This research combines 8 business models into a conceptual business model. This conceptual model is used to evaluate the strategic completeness plus internal and external consistency. The second part diagnoses the network. Beer’s viable systems model is used to define activities of the network and their distribution among actors within that network. A qualitative approach is taken in the form of a case study for both parts. Results of this study indicate a high degree of completeness of strategy, yet certain inconsistencies that impact the ability to achieve desired strategic outcomes. The network diagnosis results in a new core value statement for the network. The distribution of operational activities and regulatory activities is established. | en_US |
