This research investigated how the structural elements of formalization, centralization and hierarchy are related to the perceived red tape of care and mentoring employees within long term healthcare organizations. Thereby it created a model that can be used by both scholars and practitioners that want to understand how the three structural elements and red tape are related to each other. This model shows that the relationship that was investigated is more complex than scholars found until now.en_US
