Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) has become a widely accepted strategy in the field of transportation across the globe. The TOD concept is based on developing mixed-used catchment area of stations such that the need for travelling by motorized vehicles is reduced. There are different approaches to planning TODs. In the Netherlands, the corridor approach, introduced in 2013, has swiftly become the accepted method of planning transit. As more Dutch cities continue to align their development with this strategy, it raises the need to assess the existing TODs for equity aspects given that there is a vast amount of literature that discusses the possibility of inequitable consequences from incomprehensive TOD planning. In this research the RandstadRail metro line E is studied for the composition of employment sectors within catchment areas of the stations and analyzed from an equity perspective. This is carried out by conducting a multinomial logistic regression with node-place characteristics of TODs, and number and type of businesses in the study area as factors. The results show that the characteristics do a play a role in orchestrating the composition of employment sectors along the railway corridor and accordingly influences the equitability of job opportunities in the regions’ most accessible locations.en_US
