Abstract
The purpose of the study was to extend the understanding of predictors of change leadership, as this topic gains in importance in a global safety performance company based in Germany. The study examined the relation between change leadership and three context-related predictors: commitment of senior leadership to change, support of immediate manager, and error management culture. In addition, the relationship between change leadership and feedback-seeking frequency towards supervisors was investigated. In total, 45 Sales and Marketing leaders completed an online questionnaire. The results show a significant and positive relation between error management culture and change leadership, whereas no significant relation with the remaining variables was found. Besides the discussion of methodological limitations and areas for future research, a set of practical implications are formulated. The study findings serve as a starting point for a leadership intervention and reveal a new field of action with respect to error management culture. Keywords: change leadership, organizational readiness for change, error management culture, feedback-seeking frequency
