Abstract
In areas of conflict performing journalism is sometimes under a lot of pressure because it is not always possible to verify the news. This research discusses the interests of five parties during the shift of power of the Crimean peninsula by a framing analysis: The Russian Federation, Ukraine, European Union, NATO and the United Nations. Each party frames its interests the way its suits the party the best according to their beliefs and agenda. Journalists have to use a polynarrative to stop the spreading of fake news that comes from areas of conflict. This is important because the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation about Crimea is far from over. Key words: Fake News, journalism, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Crimea
