Abstract:
The research described in this thesis aims to investigate whether, and if so which, facial
expressions can be found that are used for action coordination between subjects. This is done by having subjects play a negotiation game known as Battle of the Sexes with no further contact other than a webcam stream of the other player's face. The collected data consisted of timestamps for events in the game and recordings of the subjects' faces, which were analysed using FaceReader. Signs of interaction were found, but there was no evidence for specific facial expressions.
