Abstract
This research tries to determine the impact of employee shared ownership on the relationship between home-based work and organizational performance. The dependent variable, organizational performance, is measured via productivity and organizational commitment. The independent variable. home-based work. is measured via home-based work and a sub-form of home-based work: telework. The moderating variable, employee shared ownership, is based on share scheme options and stock options within a firm. To test the hypothesis drafted for this research, a multilevel regression analysis is conducted. There is opted for this method, because it provides the opportunity to control for the random effect that country has on the conceptual model. Furthermore, five other control variables were added in the analysis: firm industry, firm size, trade unions, human capital development, and the amount of managers in the workforce. The drafted hypothesis are not supported by the analysis. Nevertheless, the research is able to make recommendations and implications: 1) There is room left for research regarding organizational performance, home-based work, and employee shared ownership. 2) Home-based work does not decrease productivity or organizational commitment. 3) Employee shared ownership has a direct positive effect on organizational commitment. 4) Human capital development has a positive correlation to productivity
