Abstract:
This thesis is focused on the recently emerged trade conflict between the United States and the People’s Republic of China. The emergence of the conflict is examined on the basis of a chronological framework and possible aftermaths of the conflict are explored looking at the reasoning of scholars from different schools of thought within the field of international relations. In order to get a grasp of the history of the relationship between the two nations, a historical overview is composed in the first chapter. The chronological framework continues onto the next chapter, where the conflict itself is outlined. Through this outline, one particular event is zoomed in on, namely the Huawei ban which president Donald Trump implemented.
