dc.description.abstract | The conceptions of traditional housing are gradually replaced by concepts such as communities and thinking in terms of living environments and lifestyles. We can see a trend in the realisation of communities such as: senior-communities, golf-communities and sustainability-communities. A community distinguishes it selves as a location specific development which anticipates on the wishes concerning the living conditions and the lifestyle of the target group. With communities, area developers approach consumers in their wishes. Consequently, when the environment is tailor made, the communities develop their own profile. Citizens with a certain interest, for example golf, can arrange the space in accordance with their own wishes. Communities are relatively new in The Netherlands, however they are on rise. There is a growing need for community sense and solidarity in the Dutch society. Therefore communities have a strong social character. This research paper examined whether the connection between the daily life needs and the living conditions in communities contributes to the feeling of happiness of the inhabitants. The feeling of happiness is divided into social, economic and physic dimensions in which people can develop themselves. | en_US |
