Abstract
This thesis looks at the visibility of the roots of the CNN effect in the reporting on the Vietnam War on the evening news shows The Huntley-Brinkley Report on NBC and the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. It also pays attention to interaction between the foreign policy of American politicians and television news.
